The Lancaster County Community Garden (LCCG) Project is a members only, outreach-oriented program coordinated between United Way of Lancaster County and Lancaster Parks and Recreation Department. The primary goal of the garden project is to use the garden as an open classroom that will address gardening techniques as well as health and nutrition.
The LCCG is open to any Lancaster County resident and is completely free. We ask that anyone interested in gardening with us, to contact the Lancaster County United Way office for an application.
Additionally, residents of Lancaster County can use the garden to furnish their dinner tables with fresh, healthy, pesticide-free fruits and vegetables and also donate any extra food to our local food banks, shelters and charities of choice.
We also encourage parents to sign their children up for our Kiddie Korner garden throughout the year. It's never to early to teach our children where their food "really" comes from.
